Isaac "Bug" Littlewolf

Isaac "Bug" Littlewolf, age 72, of Naytahwaush, MN, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018, at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Isaac Littlewolf, who was most commonly known as "Bug", was born on July 30, 1946, to Julia (Johnson) and Isaac Littlewolf Sr., in White Earth, MN. He grew up in the Naytahwaush Community and attended school there. Growing up in the village, he knew everyone, but one special girl caught his eye, Meredy Bellanger. Isaac and Meredy were united in marriage on February 19, 1966, and together they were blessed with six children. In his younger years, Bug worked in the forest logging before becoming a heavy equipment operator. He worked for private construction companies for a time then was employed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs for 18 years. The final 15 years of his career were spent working alongside of his son, Justin, with the Roads Division for the White Earth Nation.

Bug's smile would light up any room. He was known for his quick wit and amusing remarks in many situations. He had a wonderful sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. He was an avid Vikings fan and never missed watching a Minnesota Twins Game. Bug also enjoyed playing Keno at the Shooting Star Casino. He loved being outside and spent hours ricing, hunting, and snowmobiling. Bug was proud of his home and tediously cared for his lawn and trees watching them mature as the seasons went by. Above all, bug loved to spend time with his children and his grandchildren whenever he was able.

He is survived by his wife, Meredy of Naytahwaush; one daughter, Lisa Littlewolf of Mahnomen; three sons: John, Justin (Amy) and Tony, all of Naytahwaush; three sisters: Vickie (Bert) Wichern of Waubun, MN, Linda Littlewolf, of Naytahwaush, and Germaine "Dolly" Johnson of Ada, MN; 11 grandchildren: Michelle, Mathew, Jessie, Michael, Darin, Dimitri, Justin Jr., Jacob, Jayme, Julisa, Rainey; six great grandchildren: Trenton, Larissa, Tripp, Dakotah, Meredy, and Mayleena; any many nieces and nephews.

Isaac was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Jamie and Lynda; and six siblings: Ada Burnette, Sally Littlewolf, Cora Briggs, Nora Garbow, Waurene Littlewolf, and Sonny Littlewolf.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at his home in Naytahwaush.
