Wambli Chanten "Eagle Heart" DuBois

August 18, 1992 - September 25, 2018

Wambli Chanten DuBois (Eagle Heart) 26 of Fort Totten, ND passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.

The Wake for Wambli will be held at the Tekakwitha Center, St. Michael, ND on Sunday, September 30, 2018 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. The procession to St. Michael will leave at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday from City Plaza.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Paul Schuster celebrating the Mass. Wambli will be laid to rest in St. Jerome's Cemetery, rural Fort Totten.

Wambli was born on August 18, 1992 at Devils Lake, the son of Valerie Yankton and Lawrence Bull. He grew up in Fort Totten and graduated from Four Winds High School with the class of 2010. As a youngster, Wambli was member of the Boy Scouts Troop 008 and Lego League. He loved playing basketball and was a member of the Four Winds Boys 2009-2010 basketball team that were the District and Regional Champions that year.

Wambli was always a good employee and worked at various jobs in the region, including Dakota Dry Beans and Dakota Tree Service. He lived and worked in Fargo for a few years and at the present time was making his home in Grand Forks. Wambli really enjoyed cooking for his family and playing online video games with his friends.

Wambli never had children of his own but loved and cherished his nieces and nephews with all his heart. He loved to tease and told his family many times, "I would love to babysit the kids for a buck or snack". He always had a quick wit and just a fun sense of humor. Just being around Wambli brought much joy and happiness to his family and friends. Wambli treasured his family and he will be so very missed. His memory will be in our hearts forever.

Wambli's loving family include his parents Valerie and Lawrence; grandmothers Pauline Greywater, Helena Littleghost, Elizabeth Littleghost, Elaine Robertson and Beryl DuBois; great grandmother Cora Rose Iceman; grandfathers Daniel DuBois Jr. and Leroy Littleghost; sisters Erica Cavanaugh, Robin Knutson, Lynessa Yankton, Tiffany DuBois, Dana Rose Yankton and Pauline DuBois; brothers Shilo Knutson and Dakota DuBois; special nieces Valari, Lexi, Kimora, Jasmine, Lynaea, Mary Jane, Eden, Calista, Shaylise and Alianna; special nephews Denzel Knutson, Hunter Azure, Marquese DuBois, Hamidu Jalloh, Chaz Cavanaugh and Roberto DuBois; aunts Celeste Herman, Clarice Lawrence, Jackie Yankton, Paulette Lenoir, Andrea IronShield and Georgia DuBois; uncles Roger Yankton Sr., Quentin Yankton, James Yankton Jr., Free DuBois, Calvin DuBois, Blue DuBois, Sherman DuBois, Josie Lawrence, Roger IronShield, Jerry Lenoir Sr. and Michael Alex Sr.; special aunt and uncle Tane and David Russo; his Dad Daniel DuBois III; god parents Whalen and Renita Shaw.

Welcoming Wambli to his heavenly home are his grandmothers Marlene Lovejoy and Catherine Yankton; grandfathers James Yankton Sr., Steven Hoksina, Giles Yankton, Andrew Yankton Sr. and Paul Yankton Sr.; great grandparents Alex and Angeline (Red Horse) Yankton; uncles Scott Yankton, Alex Yankton; aunts Deanna DuBois, Danielle DuBois, Denise DuBois; cousins Kalum Yankton, William Herman, Robert Herman Jr., Larse Azure Jr., Todd Yankton, Barry Young, Whitney Yankton, Mary Littlewind, Michelle Littlewind, Jenny Littlewind; special bros Grant Davidson and Philip Krulish.
