Audit finds Minnesota overcharged, undercharged many vehicle registrations

Minnesotans have been frustrated by long waits and other problems at licensing offices brought on by more than a year's worth of major glitches in the state's flawed vehicle registration system. Now it turns out they may have been charged the wrong amounts for some of those transactions.

A state report released Tuesday found "significant inaccuracies" in transactions carried out through the Minnesota Licensing and Registration System (MNLARS), including some vehicle registration transactions for both passenger and commercial vehicles.
