ABINOOJIIYAG NOOJIMOO WIGAMIG (CHILDREN'S HEALING CENTER)

Primary Function:

The Mental Health Professional will accept referrals and provide scheduled counseling sessions for individuals, groups and families of the Red Lake Band community matching modalities with clients' needs and administer Client Diagnostic and Functional Assessments. Reports to the Juvenile Facility Director, full-time position w/benefits, salary; DOQ.

Responsibilities:

• Provide mental health counseling to clients in the service area

• Accept referrals and refer clients to other providers

• Conduct appropriate outreach activities as needed

• Assist clients with improving independent living skills through therapeutic support and referrals

• Administer Client Diagnostic and Functional Assessments

• Consult with Clinical Supervisor about medication management, diagnosis, and issues in therapeutic sessions

• Provide and schedule group and/or family counseling sessions to clients in the service area

• Assess the need for community education with Department Director

• Keep accurate client charts according to record keeping policy and procedures

• Complete reports promptly

• Provide information to program evaluation

• Assess effectiveness of service delivery

• Arrange for psychological testing of clients and referents

• Plan and participate in community information/education/recreational events

• Normal physical requirements

Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Social Work with clinical experience is required

• Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) is preferred but Master's level clinician will be considered (This position will have licensure track clinical supervision provided)

• Experience working with Indian community is preferred

• Knowledge of computer applications to include Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook

• Possess excellent written and oral communication skills

• Ability to work independently and establish priorities

• Attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects

• Employment contingent upon successfully passing Pre-Employment Drug/Alcohol Test and Background checks
