ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST

ABINOOJIIYAG NOOJIMOO WIGAMIG (CHILDREN'S HEALING CENTER)

Primary Function:

The Administrative Specialist position requires appropriate coursework or technical training in business and office related functions and/or experience in an office or administrative support position. The Administrative Specialist is a full-time position and works under the supervision and direction of the Program Director. The Administrative Specialist performs office and clerical work to support Center operations. The Administrative Specialist performs a variety of general office clerk and data entry duties with public and agency contact. Reports to the Program Director, full-time position w/benefits, salary; DOQ.

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining a broad knowledge base of the operation of the Center and its entities.

• Knowledge of computer software programs and functions.

• Performs client intake and scheduling of client appointments.

• Proofreading and mailing of reviews, evaluations and general correspondence.

• Mailing and monitoring of parent packets.

• Entry/typing and distribution of Center-related correspondence.

• Answering of phones, taking messages and greeting and referring visitors.

• Preparation of statistical reports.

• Faxing, photocopying and fulfilling routine inquiries for information etc.

• Filing of client files and documents.

• Maintenance of office supplies.

• Serving as administrative staff duties when necessary.

• Performing other duties that may be assigned. The duties of this position may be changed or added to as the needs of the Children's Healing Center.

Qualifications:

• A.A. Degree or A.A.S.; or a combination of education, work experience and training

• Knowledgeable of Word documents and Excel spreadsheets

• Possess excellent working knowledge of programs such as Chemical Health, Family & Children Services and Mental Health, Corrections and Rehabilitation Program operation(s) for Youth in a direct supervision environment

• Possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of various economic, educational and cultural backgrounds

• Possess excellent written and oral communication skills

• Must have strong computer skills

• Proof of valid Minnesota Driver's License

• Proof of current active Minnesota automobile insurance

• Must pass state and federal background investigation

• Employment contingent upon successfully passing Pre-Employment Drug/Alcohol Test
