3rd Annual Food Summit held in Red Lake - P3

RED LAKE - The 3rd Annua Red Lake Nationl Food Summit was held in Red Lake on Friday and Saturday, September 14 and 15, 2018, at Red Lake Nation College.

Hosted by the 4-Directions Development's Gitigaanike Foods Initiative, some of the topics included Decolonizing the Diet, Food is Medicine, Indigenous Ecological Sustainability, What a Successful Food System Looks Like, Food for the Future, and more.

Saturday's morning session featured Outdoor Food Demonstrations and Food Samples, including Smoked Fish, Hominy, Natural Teas, Canning, Outside Bread, Hot Rock Cooking, Wild Rice, and Bow and Arrow Making.
