Robert Natewa, Jr., age 55, "Gizhe-Manidoo" which means "Great Spirit" of the Kingfisher Clan and Ponemah, Minnesota began his journey to the spirit world on Monday, September 10, 2018. He was born in San Jose, CA on July 24, 1963, the son of Mary Lou (Thomas) Stillday and Robert Natewa, Sr.

Bob enjoyed singing with his brothers, the Crooked Lake Agency and the Haystack Singers. He liked beading, drawing, painting and carving. Bob followed the powwow trail where he had many friends and extended family. He loved being around his children and grandchildren. Bob enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Wild. He worked at the 7 Clans Casinos in Red Lake, Thief River Falls and Warroad. Bob also worked for the ENP Program in Ponemah and occasionally subbed in the kitchen with the Red Lake School District.

Robert is welcomed into the spirit world by his father; Thomas Stillday, Jr., biological father; Robert Natewa, Sr., brothers; Dexter Stillday and Steven Natewa, sister; Brenda Natewa, granddaughter; Marijane Elexis Ann Natewa, maternal grandparents; Louis and Jane Whitefeather, paternal grandparents; Rex and Agnus Natewa.

Family that he leaves behind are his mother; Mary Lou Stillday of Ponemah, children; Peter Joseph Herbert of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Kimberlain Sparvier and Tyeshia Natewa both of Cowessess, Saskatchewan, Tyrone and Jory Natewa both of Red Lake, Anessa, Ashtyn and Jeron Natewa all of Ponemah, sisters; Elaine (Eric) Armstrong, Vicky (Oriole) Johnson, Karen Natewa and Valerie Stillday all of Ponemah, Dianne, Bobbi and Stephanie Natewa all of Zuni, NM, brothers; Gary M. and Curtis Johnson and Thomas E. Stillday all of Ponemah, Cletus and Lavias Natewa of Zuni, NM, grandsons; Siefer and twins Jeice and Zoey Natewa, granddaughters; Annaliece and Athena Natewa, aunt; Rita Johnson, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

An overnight wake for Robert will begin at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 18th and continue until his traditional services at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19th all being held at the Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah, MN. Zac Earley will be his Spiritual Advisor. Pallbearers for Bob will be Darwin Iceman, Wayne Johnson, Jr., Timothy Johnson, Gary M. Johnson, Curtis Johnson, Darris Kingbird, Keith Schoenborn, Sr., Keith Schoenborn, Jr., Kelly Iceman, Saunders Stillday and Delwyn Schoenborn, Sr. His honorary pallbearers are Harlan Stillday, Jonathon Windy Boy, Willy Strong, Rook Sparvier, Richard "Dahl" Cook and George French. Interment will be in the Stillday Family Burial Grounds in Ponemah, MN following his service.
