The state has revoked the administrator certification for Sharon McPhail — and fined the charter school where the former Detroit councilwoman serves as a chief administrator — over questions about whether she's continuing to run the school despite claims by the school that she is no longer functioning as a superintendent.
The Michigan Department of Education has already withheld $100,188 in state aid from Detroit Community Schools (DCS), and the school still owes $122,387 in fines, said Bill DiSessa, spokesman for MDE.
