Man pleads guilty to sexually assaulting teen he met on Grindr

BAY CITY, MI -- A Gratiot County man has admitted in federal court to having sexually assaulted a teenage boy he met via a social networking app.

Randy L. Kirkpatrick, 30, on Aug. 24 appeared before U.S. District Magistrate Judge Patricia T. Morris at the federal courthouse in downtown Bay City and pleaded guilty to one count of sexual abuse of a minor. The charge is punishable by up to 15 years in prison, to be followed by a mandatory minimum five years of supervision.
