June 17, 1953 - August 27, 2018

Steven "Punky" Clark, Sr., 65, of Bagley, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Sanford Bagley Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at the Faith Hill Assembly of God Church in Bagley with the Pastor John Swanson officiating. Visitation will be Friday, August 31, 2018 at the Faith Hill Assembly of God Church in Bagley from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be at the Bagley City Cemetery in Bagley, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.

Punky was born in Minneapolis, MN on June 17, 1953 to Melvin Clark and Norma Almquist. He attended Nay Tah Waush Elementary and graduated from Mahnomen High School in June of 1972. After graduation, Punky started working doing drywall. He continued to do drywall work for much of his life, at one point operating his own construction company, "Clark's Construction". He also worked for White Earth Housing Authority as a Housing Inspector and as maintenance at the Nay Tah Waush Sports complex. In June of 2014, Punky was elected as the District 1 Representative for the White Earth Tribal Council and served until July 2018 when he retired. He also served as President of the Bagley Youth Hockey Association and as Chairman of Title VII Indian Education Committee in addition to being a member of the White Earth Reservation Boys and Girls Club. Punky also was a foster parent for many years.

Punky loved fishing and hunting. He enjoyed watching hockey, traveling to his kids' football and hockey games, and was a passionate Minnesota Twins Fan. Most of all, he loved his family and cherished his grandchildren. Baby Vada was the light of his life and after retiring, he would watch her at his "Papa's daycare". Punky was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He was so giving that his family donated his corneas in hopes to help someone else see. He was a good man with a wonderful sense of humor and a distinct laugh. He had a big heart and was always joking and laughing to brighten anyone's day. He will be tremendously missed.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine Clark of Bagley, MN; children, Steven (Megan) Clark, Jr. of Stanley, North Dakota, Jeni (Jon Knutson) Clark of Bagley, MN, Stephanie Clark of Bagley, MN, and Christopher (Camryn) Clark of East Grand Forks, MN; Grandchildren, Bridget (Robb) Lindell, Brady Brueland, Madison Clark, Abby Clark, and Vada Clark; great granddaughter, Lily Lindell; daughter-in-law, Noelle Beck of Bagley, MN; brothers, Kenneth (Ann) Clark of Circle Pines, MN, Patrick (Rhonda) Clark of Yakima, WA, Wolfe (Wendy) Clark of Fertile, MN, and Melvin (Julie) Clark of East Grand Forks, MN; his sisters, Linda Kroyer, Minneapolis, MN and Carmen (Mitch) Lenz of Fertile, MN; father and mother-in-law, Marcell and Janice Goodwin; and numerous other loved family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Clark; mother, Norma Almquist; son, Shawn Clark; Great grandson, Andrew Lindell; and several aunts and uncles.
