Student mental health key to improving school safety, commission hears

State and local education leaders told members of the Federal Commission on School Safety there is no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to keeping students and schools safe during the Commission's fourth and final listening session in Montgomery on Tuesday.

During the public comment period, Alabama education officials from across the state addressed the Commission and asked for flexibility in using federal funding to improve mental health services for students.
