Final call for applications and statement of interests to participate in the EIDBI Learning Collaborative! DHS seeks statements of interest to participate in the EIDBI Learning Collaborative

DHS requests statements of interest to participate in the Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention (EIDBI) Learning Collaborative from the following professionals:

• • Licensed mental health professionals in the field of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis and treatment

• • Clinicians who specialize in ASD screening or diagnosis

• • Academic researchers involved in current study and research in ASD or related conditions

• • Enrolled Minnesota Health Care Programs (MHCP) providers supporting people with ASD and related conditions.

The EIDBI Learning Collaborative is an ongoing research project in which members will:

• • Provide expertise and input related to DHS’ EIDBI benefit research activities

• • Make recommendations for refinement of policies, training and standards for implementation of the EIDBI benefit

• • Serve as quality experts and representatives across the fields of ASD and related conditions in treatment, research and education.

Membership expectations

Members of the EIDBI Learning Collaborative will be expected to:

• • Work with research project staff who facilitate quarterly meetings

• • Acknowledge the value of other members’ experience or expertise

• • Integrate research into current policies and standards for improved quality, effectiveness and person- and family-centered EIDBI services

• • Share information from the group with stakeholders and other groups they might be part of.

Selected members can expect to participate in four to six conference calls and/or in-person meetings from October 2018 to June 2019, with the option of extending membership until June 2020.

Selection process

Interested professionals should have experience in ASD and related conditions and represent at least one of the following areas:

• • Developmental and behavioral interventions

• • Clinical practice

• • Academic study of ASD or related conditions

• • Psychology

• • Social work

• • Special education.

Except for academic researchers, each member must be a Minnesota-licensed professional or enrolled as a Minnesota Healthcare Programs (MHCP) provider.

DHS will prioritize the selection of professionals, enrolled providers, EIDBI agency professionals and academic researchers who can:

• • Objectively represent their perspectives and expertise

• • Work together with others

• • Provide representation of diverse cultures.

DHS will work to recruit a diverse and balanced distribution of perspectives, including primary caregivers, licensed mental health professionals and academic researchers.

DHS encourages professionals who live in greater Minnesota (i.e., outside the Twin Cities metropolitan area) to apply. DHS will offer technology assistance for those who cannot travel to in-person meetings.

Submission instructions and deadline

Statements of interest must include the following information:

• • Resume or a Curriculum Vitae

• • Professional area of expertise and/or personal experience and perspective

• • Experience with ASD

• • Reason for interest in participating in the Learning Collaborative

• • Description of any potential conflicts of interest and how you might address them.

Submit your statement of interest by 4 p.m., Sept. 1, 2018, or postmark stamped on Sept. 1, 2018, to receive full consideration. DHS may choose not to review statements of interest received after Sept. 1, 2018.
