Mescalero man sentenced to 10 months for assault on federal officer

Ellis Arkie Sago, 24, an enrolled member of the Mescalero Apache Nation, who resides in Mescalero, was sentenced last week in federal court to serve 10 months in custody for assaulting a federal officer.

Five of those months will be served in prison and the remaining will be in a halfway house. Sago will be on supervised release after completing his custodial sentence, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Las Cruces.
