Rick Warren Lyon, Makogawaateshing (Bear's Shadow), age 36, of Bemidji, MN passed away on Friday, August 17, 2018 at his home.

Rick was born on May 13, 1982 in Fergus Falls, MN to John and Karey (Ostby) Lyon. They lived in Walker and Brainerd before settling in International Falls after the passing of Rick's father. He went to school in International Falls and then made his home in Bemidji.

Rick had many hobbies and interests. He liked to fish, watch old VHS movies, and listen to music. He loved his three dogs, Baby Girl, Buddy and Paul, as well as any "critters" he could catch. Rick had a green thumb and took pride in his ability to grow just about anything. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and looked forward to family events.

He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Karey (Jerry Good) Lyon, three sisters: Shannon Lyon, Stacie (J.R. Robinson) Lyon and Aimee Lyon; his brother, Adam Lyon, several step-brothers and step-sisters, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and special friends: Wanda, Chad and Natalie.

Rick was preceded in death by his father, John; his niece, Kelcie Greene-Lyon; his grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the Veteran's Memorial Grounds in Cass Lake.
