RED LAKE FAMILY & CHILDREN SERVICES

Open: August 21, 2018 – UNTIL FILLED.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Provide comprehensive case management services to children and families who are involved in the child protection system, both voluntarily and involuntarily, on the Red Lake Indian Reservation. Work directly with children and parents to preserve and/or reunify the family and achieve safety and well-being for children in a stable home environment whenever possible. Report to the Executive Director, full-time position w/benefits, salary; DOQ.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Case Management services to families with children at risk of placement or currently in placement; including developing a case/safety plan, facilitating supervised visits, providing face-to-face visits with family a minimum of once a month, among other duties.

• Must be able to perform required billing practices in accordance with Child Welfare Targeted Case Management (CWTCM), and reimbursement activities under Title IV-E.

• Knowledgeable of the Red Lake Tribal Codes relating to child welfare services. Preparation of court reports, and attend court hearings.

• Develops and reviews individual plans; provide preventative services to children and families.

• Arrange for necessary meetings with other resource agencies and provide referrals to ensure the family receives appropriate, culturally relevant services.

• Participate in professional development training and educational activities; Attend staff and case management meetings.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must hold an Associate's Degree. Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field preferred.

• Five (5) years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

• Ability to communicate effectively, in writing and execute excellent oral communication.

• Must be able to network with community organizations and work in various situations, including crisis.

• Must have a valid Minnesota Driver's License, auto insurance, and reliable car.

• Employment contingent upon successfully passing Pre-Employment Drug/Alcohol Test and Background Check.
