The Civic Caucus has tried, but has not yet been able, to schedule an interview with candidate Tim Pawlenty, former governor of Minnesota.

The Civic Caucus gubernatorial candidate interview process

Rather than asking a uniform set of questions, the Civic Caucus had in-depth conversations with each candidate. Our primary focus was competitiveness, particularly what can be done to keep Minnesota's overall economic and social climate and its people competitive in a number of realms. We particularly examined foundational competitiveness, those essential elements of a successful community, including human capital; physical infrastructure; education; transportation; health care; the public-policy process, including Minnesota’s legislative process; and other resources contributing to Minnesota’s quality of life.

The Civic Caucus mission

The mission of the nonprofit, nonpartisan Civic Caucus is to provide a new model for reaching informed, nonpartisan solutions to a broad scope of Minnesota civic issues. We work to educate the public, our more than 6,000 e-mail subscribers and ourselves on new ways of thinking about solutions to many of the most pressing problems facing our state and its communities.
