Margaret "Magi" Louise Parkhurst

Margaret "Magi" Louise Parkhurst, 67, of Minneapolis, MN, passed away on August 6, 2018 from cancer.

Margaret was born in Park Rapids on July 22, 1951, the daughter of Frances Strong (Bagley) and Raymond E. Keep. She married Murphy N. Parkhurst, Jr. on December 10, 1973, they were married 42 years until Murphy passed in 2015.

Margaret worked in the administrative field for Native American Non-Profit Organizations in Minneapolis for 10 years until she became a homemaker. She was very passionate about her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, cooking, attending events with live music and bingo.

Margaret is survived by two sons; Joseph N. Parkhurst (Crystal), George A. Parkhurst, two daughters Amber D. Parkhurst, Autumn J. Parkhurst, six grandchildren; Mathew Parkhurst, Alexus Parkhurst, Devin Hinden (Genesis), Emmalise Poole, Zander Papageorgiou, Matthew Kroening Jr., two great-grandchildren; Xzavier Parkhurst, Aria Hinden and many relatives.

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband Murphy N. Parkhurst, Jr., her mother Frances A. Strong, her sisters Mildred Holthusen, Marilyn Strong and those who've gone before her.

The wake will start at 10:00 am Friday August 10, 2018 at the Redby Community Center in Red Lake until a service at 11:00 am on Saturday August 11, 2018 with Father George Ross of St. Antipas Episcopal Church who will officiate. Burial at Ft. Snelling Cemetery with her husband Murphy is tentatively set for October 6, 2018. Funeral arrangements coordinated by Simple Traditions by Bradshaw.
