Metsa Calls on Radinovich to Denounce Super PAC Spending Campaign

VIRGINIA, MN -- Today, Rep. Jason Metsa’s congressional campaign called on Joe Radinovich to demand that shadowy, conservative-funded Super PACs spending money in support of his campaign stop their efforts to influence the Eighth Congressional District primary race.

The Super PAC, known as Progress Tomorrow Inc., is funded by other Super PACs which are known to receive funding from high-profile national figures, including James Murdoch, Fox executive and son of Rupert Murdoch, Berkshire Partners managing director Bradley Bloom, hedge fund manager Louis Bacon, and other wealthy corporate donors. The exact sources of these dark money funds are nearly impossible to trace.

“We agree with Radinovich -- and every other candidate in the DFL primary -- that dark money has no place in politics,” said campaign manager Mackenzie Taylor. “That’s why we are calling on Radinovich to stand by his values and denounce the outside groups attempting to influence DFL primary voters in his favor.

“Voters in the Eighth Congressional District deserve to make their own choices, and they deserve better than another politician who doesn’t stand up for their values.”
