Wallace "Wally" Ambrose Green Jr., age 56, of Redby, MN passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, under the loving care of Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes, MN. He was born May 23, 1962 in Red Lake MN to Wallace Ambrose Green Sr and Jane Lillian Howard. He grew up in Redby and attended school in Red Lake. Choosing to make his home in Redby, Wally worked for forestry, as a firefighter, in security and as a bus driver.

Wally loved sports, often watching softball and basketball (he was a big fan of Magic Johnson). He was also a great fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Timberwolves. He enjoyed making fry bread and hanging out with friends. Wally especially loved watching his children play softball, jamming out to pow wow music, and walking the nature trails.

He will be lovingly remembered by his four sons Shane (Sherri) May, Anthony Green, Jeffrey May, and Nicholas LaFromboise; his two daughters Trish (Jon) May and Ashley (Trudy) May; his brother Gary Green; and sisters Mary Ann 'Mully" Brown, Irene Green, Delphine Gibbs, and several nieces and nephews. Wally was preceded in death by his parents Wallace and Lillian, daughter Tashia Green, brother Marvin "Jiggs" Green, sister Elma Roy, and niece Melody 'Buffy" Brown.

A wake for Wally will begin at 6:00pm Thursday, August 2, at the New Community Center in Redby, and will continue until the service on Saturday, August 4, at 1:00pm. Reverend George Ross will officiate, and burial will follow at the Redby Cemetery.

Pallbearers for Wallace are Owen Johnson, Virgil Brown, Shane May, Nicholas Brown, Arnold Maxwell, Dwight Johnson, Floyd Jourdain, and Gilbert Lasley. Honorary Pallbearers are Anthony Green, Jonathan Auginash, William Cloud, Debbie Maxwell, Willa Auginash, Jeffrey May, Nicholas LaFromboise, Ronald Day III, Rawleigh Oakgrove, Kristin Clark, Rhianna Cloud, and Nikki Brown. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes for his excellent care.
