Man sentenced for sexual abuse on reservation

PENDLETON — A La Grande man was sentenced Thursday to three years in federal prison for sexually abusing a nine-year-old boy on the Umatilla Indian Reservation three years ago.

Thomas James Adams, 23, plead guilty to one count of abusive sexual contact, and has been sentenced to 37 months in federal prison. He is ordered to have no contact with the victim or his family, and is not permitted to be on the reservation without prior approval from his probation officer.
