MENTAL HEALTH PRACTITIONER ARMHS

FAMILY & CHILDREN SERVICES

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Provide culturally responsive mental health services in four areas: Basic Living and Social Skills, Community Intervention, Medication Education and Transitioning to Community Living. Reports to Executive Director, full-time position with benefits, salary; DOQ.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

• Provide individual mental health rehabilitative services to support clients with serious mental health diagnosis in the form of instruction, support, and skill coaching

• Increase psychiatric stability, promote social competencies, facilitate personal and emotional adjustment, and maintain independent living in the community

• Provide Community based rehabilitative services to adult clients (ages 18+) with mental illness who qualify for rehabilitative services

• Engage with clients from an empowerment, strength-based perspective and promote client self-determination and develop trusting, therapeutic relationships with clients

• Work under the direction of a designated clinical supervisor

• Complete Functional Assessments under supervision of a Mental Health Professional

• Implement rehabilitative mental health services, including but not limited to: basic living skills, social skills, and community intervention services

• Able to maintain STRICT confidentiality

• Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in one of the Behavioral Sciences or related fields

• Minimum of 1000 hours (prefer 2000 hours) of documented supervised experience in delivery of clinical services to recipients of mental illness

• Provisional hire will be considered if 2000 hours of documented supervised experience in the delivery of clinical services in the treatment of mental illness is not met. Internships and practicums involving clinical mental health services may qualify toward hours.

• Must have a valid Minnesota Driver's license and auto insurance

• Employment contingent upon successfully passing Pre-Employment Drug/Alcohol Test and Background Check
