4-DIRECTIONS DEVELOPMENT (ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT/PLANNING)

Primary Function:

Assist with the delivery of technical assistance, business education, and entrepreneurial resources for Red Lake Band members. Striving to develop and maintain profitable and self-sustaining Red Lake Band member businesses within the Red Lake Nation economy. Reports to Executive Director, full-time position w/benefits, salary; $20.00 - $25.00 hourly.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties:

• Provide entrepreneurial services as outlined in the Program Manual; providing technical assistance, coaching, and training in the areas of business plan development, financial literacy, finance packaging, management, marketing, technology, and accounting

• Provide services to both start-up and existing band member owned businesses

• Assist clients with locating and applying for business financing; helping them through the loan application process

• Help with teaching clients on a one-to-one basis or in a classroom setting; able to transfer knowledge to others and assist with development and presentation of educational classes

• Assist with documentation and maintenance of entrepreneurial activities to assist the program with measurement and evaluation of program impact

• Present appropriate and concise information, meet specified deadlines, and work well under pressure

• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and clients

• Assist with marketing and promoting program activities to the community

• Coordinate with Marketing on creation of entrepreneur marketing pieces

• Continuous monitoring of the business environment: analyze reports, trends, and data that will keep the program abreast of changes.

• Work with the Executive Director, to define and achieve annual objectives, schedules, and overall strategies for effective delivery of services

• Be a team member and collaborative partner to maintain effective communication both internally and externally

• Trustworthy with confidential client and tribal information

• Assist to establish and maintain good working relationships with staff, clients, contractors, and vendors

• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree in a Business related field

• Two (2) years of Business experience or Four (4) year of experience managing a Business

• Financial knowledge to create and analyze financial statements (projected and actual)

• Experience compiling and packaging business plans

• Able to work with Windows Office and Quickbooks software

• One or more years of experience in marketing and/or graphic design work is a plus

• Native preference applies in filling this position; those not entitled to native preference will receive consideration without discrimination
