ARTS COORDINATOR

4-DIRECTIONS DEVELOPMENT (ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT/PLANNING)

Primary Function:

Work within 4-Directions Development to provide needed services and activities to assist, develop, and market Red Lake Nation artists. Reports to Executive Director, full-time position w/benefits, salary; $13.00 - $15.00 hourly.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties:

• Work within the entrepreneur program to define and achieve annual objectives, schedules, and overall strategies for artist development and promotion

• Planning and coordination needed for artist development trainings and events

• Assist with the development of a successful artist's cooperative

• Establish and maintain communication with all staff, including proper documentation and processing of activities, expenses and timelines

• Communicate and coordinate department staff as needed for arts activities and events

• Help incorporate art options with food initiative events and activities

• Monitor and document work and activities with outcomes for evaluation and reporting

• Assist with development and distribution of marketing materials needed for artists, as well as art activities and events; including online methods

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and vendors in a fast paced work environment

• Assist the department with identifying funding sources for projects; and assist with proper documentation and management of awarded funding

• Monitor and research resources, models, tools, and trends that would benefit the artists.

• Well-developed oral and written communication skills; able to present appropriate and concise information, meet specified deadlines, and comfortable presenting to a group

• Assist with maintaining connections with local artists, while maintaining consistent communication with a core group of artists

• Be an effective team member and provide top quality interaction with clients.

• Trustworthy with confidential client and tribal information

• Assist to establish and maintain good working relationships with staff, clients, contractors, and vendors

• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• GED/High School Diploma

• Event planning experience

• Experience with marketing and promotional outlets

• Strong organizational skills and detail oriented

• Familiar with working in various aspects of the arts (visual, literary, and performing)

• Strong communication network established with artists and artist resources

• Any formal artist development training experience

• Website and social media experience
