RECEPTIONIST

HEAD START PROGRAM

OPEN: AUGUST 1, 2018

CLOSING: AUGUST 24, 2018 @ 3:00 P.M.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

To perform Receptionist duties; Customer Service is the priority whether in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries, direct visitors, and maintaining employee and department directories. Reports to Director, full-time position, w/benefits, salary; $13.00 hourly.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

• Answering incoming telephone calls, directing calls to appropriate staff

• Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every visitor

• Pick up the mail daily and distribute to staff and various Programs

• Handling of incoming and outgoing correspondence accordingly from fax machine

• Keep track of bus schedules to ensure child safety while being transported

• Coordinate transportation services; establishing bus routes, training and scheduling bus monitors

• Call in substitute bus drivers when needed

• Prepare time sheets for signatures for all employees

• Maintain a supply of Head Start applications

• Attend conferences and/or other in-services and workshops

• Assist all staff as needed

• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• GED/High School Diploma (Attached copy w/Application)

• Minimum of one (1) year of reception experience

• Must have basic knowledge of general office equipment and computers

• Ability to work independently

• Must have good work attendance and be dependable

• Strong interpersonal and organizational communication skills

• Ability to work as part of a team, effectively communicate with staff and parents

• Ability to maintain strong confidentiality of personal information contained in files and discussed in meetings as evidenced by previous employment experience

• Ability to work with families of varying economic, social, and ethnic backgrounds

• Ability to respond appropriately (mentally/physically) to an emergency/crisis situation

• Employment contingent upon passing pre-employment drug testing in accordance with the RL Band's Personnel Policy and Background Check
