The 4ontheFloor will return to 2nd Street Stage Aug. 9

The Park Rapids Downtown Business Association invites you to celebrate summer at 2nd Street Stage events Thursday evenings through Aug. 23. The 4ontheFloor from Minneapolis will enliven the stage following Water Wars Aug. 9.

Water Wars will start at 5:30 p.m. and the free concert will run from 7 to 9 p.m. with a beer garden, cornhole tournament and family activities on the second block of South Main. Bring your own lawn chair.

The beer garden will open at 5 p.m. for a social hour during Water Wars and while you find your spot, listen to the sound check and greet neighbors and friends before the concert. Support this great event by buying an official 2018 button and receive $2 off all beverages purchased and a free stadium cup or koozie at the beer garden.

Citizens National Bank will sponsor The 4ontheFloor after Water Wars! KARE adopted their song, "All My Friends," as the official Super Bowl anthem last winter. The band's album, "All In," showcases their roots in blues and the immediacy of post-pop punk with the hooks and sing-a-longs you'd find in all the best road trip anthems. Frontman Gabriel Douglas doesn't write stuff he can't play and he doesn't play stuff he doesn't mean. A small town upbringing brought along the song, "Small Towns" about enjoying where you are, wherever you are. Life is for the living and this is the soundtrack to a life well lived. In addition to Douglas, vocals and guitar, band members are Nick Costa, guitar; Jake Quam, drums; and Matt Brandes, bass. Arrive at 5 for the social hour, sponsored by Wolff & Simon Real Estate. Thielen Motors is weekly sound sponsor. R.D. Offutt Farms is stage sponsor.

This activity is also made possible, in part, by a 3M grant and the voters of Minnesota, through a grant from the Region 2 Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
