Senate confirms Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs

FARMINGTON — Alaska resident Tara Sweeney has been confirmed to serve as the Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs at the U.S. Department of the Interior.

The confirmation, the first time an Alaska Native was selected, received approval by the U.S. Senate on June 28.
