Jane Marie Pedersen, 70, of Cass Lake, MN passed away peacefully the morning of June 22nd, 2018 at Sanford Fargo Medical Center following complications from surgery.

A Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until 2:00pm, on Friday, June 29th, 2018 at Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

The daughter of the late Isaiah French and Margaret Davis, Jane was born May 6th, 1948 in White Earth, MN. She attended primary school in Ponsford and high school in Park Rapids. In 1965, she gave birth to her eldest son Jeffrey, who was closely followed by her eldest daughter Roberta in 1968. In the spring of 1968, she met Harold "Bill" Pedersen and fell in love. On June 1st, 1968, they became husband and wife. Jane and Bill lived in the Ponsford area for some time, where she stayed home to take care of their children welcoming their son Dale in 1969, and daughter Rebecca in 1973.

In 1984, the family moved to Garvin, MN where Jane briefly worked at Swift Company. They moved to Newcastle, Wyoming in 1985 where Jane helped her husband Bill run and manage the family trucking and mechanics business. While living in Wyoming, Jane also worked in housekeeping at the Stardust Motel. She always spoke of returning to the mountains that she loved. The family returned to Minnesota in 1989 where they settled into Cass Lake, and the family would come to call it home. In 1991 she began working at Cass Lake-Bena High School as a paraprofessional, and following that she also managed local restaurants such as the Che-We Restaurant, Ma and Pa's, and Tom's Resort. Jane began working at the Palace Casino and hotel as a housekeeper before eventually settling into laundry for many years. She made many friends and relationships with those closest to her and her husband.

Jane soon retired to stay home with her husband, children, and young grandchildren. In her later years, she welcomed seven great grandsons who she loved dearly and had a special relationship with. Jane was a lover of the outdoors and raised many animals on her family's hobby farm. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and bird watching. Jane was a loving mother, a voice of reason, and always put the needs of her loved ones ahead of herself.

Jane is survived by her children Jeff French, Roberta (Brian Gunderson) Huber and Dale Pedersen, all of Cass Lake, and Rebecca (Michael) Burns, of Erskine; her grandchildren Beau (Cynthia Christians) French of Waite Park, Cynthia (Matthew) Shaw of Deer River, Jacqueline (Ryan) Chase of Park Rapids, Autumn (Robert) Noonan of Bemidji, Teia Pedersen and Kami (William Henderson) Pedersen, both of Erskine. She also leaves behind her 7 great grandchildren; Lane, Weston, Braydan, Elijah, Reily, Lucas, Ezekiel, and her unborn great granddaughter; siblings Lorraine Leritz of Wadena, Janice Rock of Laporte, Gloria Fournier of Cass Lake, Virgil (Martha) French and John (Kathy) French, both of Ponsford, and Dean Davis of Becida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaiah French and Margaret Davis, her husband Bill, whom she was married to for 42 years, her brother Marvin French, youngest sister Linda Dormanen, and great granddaughter Leia Pedersen.

Jane will be dearly missed by her loved ones.
