2nd Street Stage brings The Lucky Dutch June 21

The Park Rapids Downtown Business Association invites you to celebrate summer at 2nd Street Stage events Thursday evenings through Aug. 16.

The free concerts will run from 6 to 8 p.m. (7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 9) with bands, a beer garden, cornhole tournaments and family activities on the second block of South Main. Bring your own lawn chair.

The beer garden will open at 5 p.m. for a social hour while you find your spot, listen to the sound check and greet neighbors and friends. Support this great event by buying an official 2018 button and receive $2 off all beverages purchased and a free stadium cup or koozie at the beer garden.

The Lucky Dutch from Chicago, another favorite from 2017, will play June 21, sponsored by Lamb Weston/RDO Frozen. Guitarist Nathan Graham and singer Claire Corriveau formed The Lucky Dutch in 2010. They began as an indie band, performing around Chicago's bar and festival scene and now tour nationally. Graham has performed as a guitarist on the Chicago blues scene since he was 15 and has worked with musicians such as Buddy Guy, BB King, Koko Taylor and Carl Weatherby. Claire Corriveau has worked consistently as a performing musician since 2008. David Padula has been playing bass since 2006, working in a jazz trio through college before moving to Chicago. Ben Dacoba started playing drums at 15 in Virginia. He draws inspiration from classic rock bands from the '60s and '70s and works as a touring drummer. Arrive at 5 for the social hour, sponsored by Knute Nelson.

Weekly stage sponsor is R.D. Offutt Farms. Thielen Motors is weekly sound sponsor. This activity is also made possible, in part, by a 3M grant and the voters of Minnesota, through a grant from the Region 2 Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
