Kickoff for Pride Event to Bring People Together and Raise Awareness in Celebration of Pride Month

McCoy’s Public House in St. Louis Park hopes first-of-its-kind event becomes a June tradition to support The Aliveness Project

St. Louis Park, MN (May 30, 2018) – McCoy’s Public Houseannounced today plans for their first ever Kickoff for Pride Event from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6 at its’ St. Louis Park location. The event, which will feature a happy hour, entertainment and prize giveaways, will benefit The Aliveness Project which supports those affected by HIV and AIDS.

Throughout the month of June, McCoy’s Public Housewill celebrate Pride Month with not only this kickoff event but weekly specials with proceeds also supportingThe Aliveness Project.

“We want to be an active member of our community which supports many worthwhile causes,” said Patrick Coghlan, McCoy’s Front of House Manager. “This is our first time doing an event relating to Pride and we hope to keep making it bigger and greater each year.”

On June 6, guests can kickoff Pride with a happy hour featuring specialty beers from two local breweries. Fulton Brewing will provide a keg of Cosmic Stallion and Great Lakes Brewing will donate a keg of Holy Moses Raspberry. Each glass sold of these unique beers will generate a donation to the Aliveness Project.

“We want to let people know we are open to everyone and we are a safe place for people to have a great time,” said Coghlan. “We hope events like this are just the beginning for us.”

Marty Collins, owner of McCoy’s Public House hopes that those who enjoy the June 6 kickoff, come back during the month to sample some special menu items that when purchased go to support community programs related to Pride.

“We feel like it is our duty to be good public stewards to support important initiatives,” Collins said. “The more we can give back the stronger the relationship we can have with people from all walks of life.”
