Darren "Scruff" Cook Sr. Memorial Singing Contest Thank You

The family of Darren "Scruff" Cook Sr. would like to thank everyone that helped in the Memorial singing contest that has been held these past four years.

First and foremost, a special thank you to the Red Lake Nation Powwow Committee. Thank you for allowing us the time and sponsorship for these past years.

Thank you to our contest coordinators. Wes Jourdain, Todd L Smith and Mike Jourdain. We never once doubted your expertise and your commitment to organizing this event. You guys did one hell of a job and we cannot thank you enough!

Thank you to ALL the drum groups that participated in our contest. Very good singing by each and every one of you!

Thank you to the MC's for doing such a good job announcing the winners and taking the time to recognize Darren "Scruff" Cook Sr. throughout the powwow. Can't forget the Arena Director's and the Registration Clerks for all their help throughout the weekend.

Thank you to everyone that bought 50/50 tickets, prize pool squares, taco sales, etc. you rock! You got us on our feet and helped us reach our goal year after year.

Thank you to everyone that helped the family by making donations, cooking, cleaning, selling tickets, etc. This means a lot to the family and shows how much he was loved.

To anyone else that we have forgot to mention. Thank you very much!

2018 was our final year of having this contest. We will continue to honor him by hosting the annual "Scruff" Scramble golf tournament and look forward to seeing you all in the fall.
