LINCOLN, Neb. — Native American leaders stood on the steps of the capitol Saturday, demanding justice and telling stories in hopes leaders will listen. Their goal was to bring attention to what they call an abuse of power in Nebraska by law enforcement and government leaders.
"Nebraska doesn't care about its native people," said Leo Yankton, who organized the "Justice for Natives" rally. "I don't plan to be silenced," Yankton said.
