Primary Functions:

Ogaakaaning Enterprises seeks a General Manager for Red Lake Best Value Inc. to oversee all aspects of the Convenience Store, Best Value Store and Red Lake Nation Fireworks to meet operational goals established by the Ogaakaaning Enterprises CEO and Board of Directors.

The General Manager is to direct, promote and coordinate the stores in a manner that will ensure that the company achieve the overall corporate mission and goals, and result in outstanding customer service. Responsible for directing the business operation of the Convenience Store, Best Value Store and Red Lake Nation Fireworks. Provide primary and secondary direction to members of the department in accordance with the organizational structure and company goals. Develop plans and determines the methods that will be used to ensure the operation achieves expected goals and objectives. Prepares and submits for approval to the Chief Executive the annual operations plan, departmental operating budget and capital expense proposal. Performs all functions in accordance with applicable federal/state/local laws and regulations, the mission and objectives of Ogaakaaning Enterprises, as well as established policies, procedures and internal controls. The General Manager will report directly to the Ogaakaaning Enterprises CEO.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage store operations including: staff, staff training and development, scheduling, checkout, merchandising, purchasing, layout, product and gas inventories, sales pricing, daily cash reconciliation, and facility/property maintenance in accordance with company policy and procedures.

• Supervise and execute food safety, control cash and merchandise shrinkage.

• Monitor sales activities to ensure that customers receive satisfactory service and quality goods.

• Plan budget and review inventory and sales records to prepare reports for management.

• Create checklist for all staff to complete and review that checklist daily with all staff to monitor efficiency and productivity.

• Constantly monitor and evaluate internal control plan for cash handling procedures, Deli procedures, ordering procedures and cleanliness of store and grounds.

• Create and maintain the bi-weekly staffing schedules for all departments.

• Responsible for the selection, training and completion of performance evaluations in a timely manner for all assigned staff.

• Serves as the Human Resource function for your operation with assistance from Corporate in rewarding, suspending, and terminating when deemed necessary.

• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Managerial or supervisory experience preferred which includes responsibility for managing a convenience store and/or departments in a convenience store.

• Bachelor's Degree and/or Associate's Degree in business, management, marketing, retailing, communications, advertising, or related fields preferred.

• Or an acceptable combination of experience and education will be considered.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.

• Strong orientation to detail and analytical skills.

• Solid problem solving skills and decisiveness.

• Ability to work flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Proven leadership ability to build, motivate and maintain staff.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to handle stressful situations.

• Organization and planning skills.

• Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.

• Ability to delegate effectively.

• Experience working with car wash.

• Computer skills: Microsoft Office Software including Outlook, Word, and Excel and POS and Inventory Management programs. Great Plains preferred.
