Timberwolves miss an opportunity in Game 1 loss to Houston

HOUSTON — Rarely can you call Game 1 of a seven-game series a “must win,” but the way things unfolded Sunday night in Houston, the Timberwolves had to win Game 1.

They didn’t get it. Minnesota, a heavy first-round underdog, failed to take advantage of an off-night from the best team in basketball, falling 104-101 to dig an 0-1 hole in the franchise’s first playoff game since 2004.
