'This would mean more guns': Broward County won't arm school employees after Parkland shooting

The Florida school district home to the school where 17 people were killed earlier this year voted down a measure that would allow arming school administrators.

Broward County's school board met Tuesday evening to discuss the proposal, which is based on a wide-ranging Florida law passed in the aftermath of the February shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. The state law allows for training and arming of school employees, if a local jurisdiction approves and accepts the state funds.
