Red Lake School District #38 is accepting applications for the following position:

Position Title: Behavioral Interventionist

Supervisor: Principal

Building: Secondary Complex

Bargaining Group: Teachers

Terms: Per Teachers' Master Agreement

Qualifications: Current Minnesota 5-12 Teaching Licensure, Demonstrated knowledge, experience and/or expressed desire to learn and apply Responsive Classroom, Conflict Resolution and Mediation Strategies. Experience or observed ability to learn monitoring programs such as the use of Synergy student discipline incident entries, revisions and reports. Experience in serving students in alternative learning placements.

Position Overview: Responsible for students in need behavior interventions maintaining and serving these students and their individual p plans while communicating with fellow staff, parents and agencies. REGULAR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve students with individual behavior plans.

• Work with Child Study teams to complete individual student functional behavioral assessments and behavior intervention plans.

• Continual effort to develop and improve student-teacher relationships with assigned students while serving socio-emotional and academic needs of the student

• De-escalate student incidents through mediation, conflict resolution, collaboration with involved staff and parent communication.

• Work and maintain accurate behavioral records and a daily schedule with small student groups serving individual behavior plans.

• Collaborate with school staff, parents and families to strengthen relationships and address student disciplinary issues

• Document and input of student discipline reports

• Evidence relationships with parents and students relative to discipline have improved

• Evidence of student behavior improvement resulting in more classroom placement.

• Maintain communication with families to resolve discipline issues.
