EXCLUSIVE: Mother and sister of missing woman speak out

Amy Dow has been missing since the end of January and yesterday they found her body. Police are calling it an unattended death investigation, but the family thinks someone else is responsible.

5-month-old Davian Castillo is home at Grandma's house, but his loving home is hurting tonight.

"I don't know... It's just, I can't believe this happened to her," says Amy's mother Chele Kalstabakken.

"Well I still think she's alive right now, even though I've seen her body. Like, right now, I still haven't processed it yet, because I still don't believe it. I'm still waiting for her to walk in the door and come home."

27-year-old Amy Dow, mother of four, lived up the road from her mom's house. She says she saw her at her house on January 27th, then she vanished.

"And then we came back again a couple days later and she still wasn't there. But, there was this guy living in her house. Some guy and and some girl saying she left the keys with them," said Kalstabakken

They were upset this couple was staying at someone's home while Amy was still missing.

"So, we kicked them out of there. We kicked them out of there three times."

Allyssa Dow, one of Amy's two sisters, says she always kept tabs on Amy's Facebook and looked there everyday, "I never got an, "Ok," or, any last message."

Still missing, they conducted a Native American ritual in Amy's home. Kalstabakken says, "The medicine man told us they'd find her not far from her home."

They say it worked, later an Eagle lead them to the body.

"At first when I was walking towards it, I didn't think it was her, I just thought it was red sweater. Then I saw her hands, and then I saw her," said Allyssa.

Red lake tribal police says this is not categorized as a homicide investigation, yet. They said they're waiting on the autopsy results to return to make that determination. They did say no public threat at this time.

"Personally, me, I think somebody did something to her," says Allyssa. "Only because I don't know why she would be right there."

"Always tell your family you love them and especially if you don't hear from them, even if it's a day or two. Find out where they are. Because you never know what's happening to them or if they're even going to come back," said Kalstabakken.

The FBI is investigating with the Red Lake tribal police. The police said the area where Amy was found was previously searched, but heavy snow conditions might've contributed to not finding her until yesterday.
