12th Annual Community Wellness Summit Held in Red Lake - P4

RED LAKE - On Wednesday, March 7, 2018, the 12th Annual Community Wellness Summit was held at the Seven Clans Casino Event Center.

The Summit, themed "Together We Can Make Change", is a three day event that will wrap up on Friday, March 9th.

Registration was from 8 AM to 12 Noon, with the opening ceremonies presented by Murphy Thomas, the Little Bear Drum and facilitator Chance Rush.

The Welcome was given by Arlen Medicine, Interim Executive Director of Red Lake Chemical Health Programs, followed by the opening address by Red Lake Tribal Chairman Darrell G. Seki Sr.

The first presentation was given by Chance Rush called "Warriors", Levels of Success, followed by lunch at noon, then "Resolution of Self, a Boxed Mentality", presented by Kasey Nicholson, and at 2:45 PM T. J. Rush presented "Healthy Lives."

A Peer Support meeting was scheduled at 6 PM with Ryan Neadeau.

Day 2 events will feature Kelly Brunelle from the Red Lake Criminal Investigation Division, and Jeffrey Harford, Resident Agent in Charge, Opiod & Related Drugs, followed by numerous workshops that include: Healthy Relationships, "Seboxin"(Buprenorphine), Treating Pain & Addiction, "Relying on Positivity", Medicine Wheel, 3on3 Collaborating with our community, and "Ceremonies & Traditions.

A Hand Drum Social is scheduled for 6 PM.
