Open house on March 8 for Bagley Highway 2 restriping project

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Residents and business owners are encouraged to attend an open house this Thursday, March 8 to provide input on a possible restriping project on Highway 2 in Bagley this fall. This meeting kicks off an additional public comment period that will last through March 22.

The meeting will be held from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. in the council chambers of Bagley City Hall, 18 Main Ave South. The meeting will be held as an open house and representatives of the project team will be on hand to discuss details and answer questions. Everyone is welcome to come when convenient.

In addition to a sealcoat project scheduled to begin in August, under consideration is an option to restripe the highway into a three-lane section that includes a center turn lane, bike and parking lanes. This option would reduce overall speeds on the corridor, reduce crashes and increase safety for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists.

The project is separate from this summer’s reconstruction project on Highway 92, which will hold separate public meetings.
