Coon Rapids man pleads guilty to abducting, raping, murdering friend's 5-year-old daughter

WALKER, Minn. — A 27-year-old Coon Rapids man on Friday admitted abducting a friend’s 5-year-old daughter from her central Minnesota home in August 2016, then sexually assaulting and strangling her in northern Minnesota.

Zachary Todd Anderson was scheduled to appear in Cass County District Court in Walker for a pretrial hearing Friday morning in front of Judge Jana M. Austad. Instead, he entered a plea of guilt for first-degree murder involving first-degree criminal sexual conduct with sexual penetration.
