ORGANIZATIONAL LOCATION: Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Indian Health Service (IHS), Northern Plains Region, Bemidji Area Office, Nursing Department, Red Lake Service Unit, Red Lake, MN and Cass Lake Service Unit, Cass Lake, MN. The purpose of the position is to provide direct patient care to patients with a variety of medical, surgical, pediatric, women's health, and health maintenance needs

DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY JOB OPPORTUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT: These positions are eligible to be filled through Office of Personnel Management's delegated Direct Hire Authority [DHA]. The Direct Hire Authority has been authorized by the Homeland Security Act of 2002 and Part 337, Subpart B, Title 5 of the Code of Federal Regulations [5 CFR]. Provides age specific nursing care services to ambulatory care clinical, general medical, surgical, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, neonatal, intensive care/critical care and emergency room patients.

Prepares and administers following physician order for medication both orally and by intramuscular injection, performs catheterization, changes, changes surgical dressings, suctioning and irrigates body offices.

Screens by obtaining vital signs, gross and subtle observations and facts regarding patient treatment and progress; documents assessment on patient record.

Prepares patients and family education, (Medication use, activities, diet, self-care and assists wit special to simple tests and procedures)

Travel Required

Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
