This is a Direct Hire Open Continuous Announcement (OCA) for Advance Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner)-(all specialties) for the Cass Lake Service Unit, Red Lake Service Unit and White Earth Service Unit.. Advance Practice Nurse diagnose human behavior and performance, individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological methods; and assessment and treatment.

TITLE 38 MARKET PAY: Specific salary range information for all specialties as follows:

-GS-11: $84,899 to $110,364 range

-GS-12: $94,128 to $122,370 range

-GS-13: $108,148 to $140,591 range

The IHS is required by law to give absolute preference to qualified applicants who meet the Secretary of the Interior's definition of Indian for appointment to vacancies within the IHS in accordance with established IHS policy as outlined in the Indian Health Manual Part 7, Chapter 3. Responsibilities

-Analyze and interpret patients' histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.

-Develop treatment plans based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practice guidelines.

-Diagnose or treat acute health care problems such as illnesses, infections, and injuries.

-Prescribe medications based on efficacy, safety, dosage and frequencies.

-Counsel patients about drug regimen and possible side effects or interactions with other substances such as food supplements, over-the-counter (OTC) medications, and herbal remedies.

-Educate patients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, tailoring instructions to patients' individual circumstances.

-Involves the knowledge of human behavior and performance, individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological methods; and assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
