Bemidji Pioneer: SD court upholds $2.29 million judgment filed by customer against Menards

PIERRE, S.D.—A circuit court was correct when it told a jury not to consider "assumption of risk" regarding a case that involved a 71-year-old man who was severely injured five years ago at a Menards store in Mitichell, the South Dakota Supreme Court has ruled.

The high court recently affirmed a decision by the circuit court regarding $2.29 million awarded by a Davison County jury for injuries suffered by Ronald Jensen on Aug. 1, 2012.
