Expansive gun-control bill introduced in House - and sponsor may try to prompt hearing

From phasing out semi-automatic rifle ownership to making it a crime for anyone owing child support to own a firearm, a gun-control bill just introduced at the Capitol reaches further than any in recent memory.

And while such an expansive bill typically wouldn’t get play in the current Legislature, its sponsor says she might try to push for debate with a little-known House rule that forced another gun-control hearing this week.
