Celebrating International Day of Women Learning About the Challenges of Women in the Middle East

WASHINGTON, DC- The London Center for Policy Research will be holding a forum entitled: The Cry of Women: What are the Main Challenges Women Face Today and How to Overcome Them?

This event will take place on March 7, 2018 from 12:00 PM-1:30 PM at the U.S. Capitol Building (Room HVC-201AB). Lunch will be served, and the event is free. Registration is required to attend. Please see link at the bottom of this release for registration.

A topic that has been left out of the “Me Too” movement is the abuse of women in countries other than the U.S.

This event will focus on women of the Middle East and their standing within their culture. Each panelist has witnessed some form of discrimination and/or repression in these societies. They will discuss the issues the women of their countries are facing today.

Reporters will have the opportunity to ask questions of speakers who are in constant communication with women from the countries they will be discussing. For example, Ninar Keyrouz was in Lebanon in December. While there she learned that 12 women died in one month as victims of domestic violence. This is a unique opportunity to obtain firsthand information concerning a group that has been overlooked in recent talk about sexual harassment and abuse.
