Bemidji Pioneer: Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig students take part in march

A group of Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig School students participated in a Walk to Remember Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women on Feb. 14. The students walked from near the school to Bena. The complete walk began on U.S. Highway 2 near the Leech Lake Reservation's western boundary, approximately 10 miles east of Bemidji, and continued to the eastern edge of the reservation near Deer River. The walk was organized to empower, maintain hope, give strength, find healing and to protect those who travel the highway, according to a press release.
