Lady Warriors struggle at first, but shut down Win-E-Mac 69-35 - P6

RED LAKE - The Red Lake Lady Warriors hosted the Win-E-Mac Patriots on Monday, February 5, 2018, in the second game of a double-header. In the first game, the Red Lake Warriors lost to Win-E-Mac in a game that could have went either way.

Red Lake struggled in the beginning, as the Patriots kept pace with the Lady Warriors, and at the 4-minute mark of the first half led 22-15.

By the end of the first half Red Lake led 33-22.

The Lady Warriors held Win-E-Mac to just 13 points in the second half, taking the win 69-35.

Red Lake's Angel McClain led all scorers with 19, Alexis Desjarlait added 14, Autumn Holthusen put in 13 and Kelanna McClain had 11 points. Kelanna McClain also had 12 rebounds, 10 blocks and 3 steals on the night.

Lindsey Espeseth had 12 for the Patriots.

Red Lake is now 18-3 on the season and was supposed to host Lake of the Woods on Thursday, February 8th but was cancelled,, will travel to Mahnomen on February 12, host Laporte on February 13, travel to Blackduck on February 15, and finish off the regular season at home against Pine River.

Red Lake over Win-E-Mac 69-35

The Warriors used a 9-0 run in the first half to break open a close game and went on to defeat Win-E-Mac at Red Lake on Monday night. Angel McClain led the Warriors with 19 points as Red Lake improved to 18-3 on the season. Freshman Kelanna McClain recorded a triple-double for the Warriors with 11 points, 12 rebounds and 10 blocked shots. Lindsey Espeseth led the Patriots with 12 points and 10 rebounds as Win-E-Mac falls to 8-11 overall. The Warriors are off until Monday, February 12 when they travel to Mahnomen/Waubun (101.5 FM). The Patriots are off until Thursday, February 8th when they play at Fertile-Beltrami.
