North Mankato woman says she drove drunk, fatally hit 88-year-old man, fled

MANKATO — A North Mankato woman allegedly admitted she “made a poor decision” to drive drunk before she fatally struck an elderly pedestrian early Wednesday morning.

Abby Marie Zoellmer, 36, turned herself in Thursday night in the hit-and-run that killed former Blue Earth County Board Commissioner William Maher, 88, of Mankato.
