JoDean Bower, age 38, of Ogema, MN, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 23, 2018.

JoDean Marie Bower, the daughter of Orville and Rudella (Weaver) Bower, was born January 25, 1979, in Minneapolis, MN. Growing up she attended elementary school in the cities before moving to Waubun in the 5th grade. JoDean obtained her GED followed by attending the White Earth Tribal and Community College. In 2005, while living in Cloquet, MN, JoDean met the love of her life, Geno Kegg. The couple lived in Cloquet for two years before moving back to the White Earth Reservation in 2007. In 2009, they moved to Minneapolis for medical reasons. Recently, the couple moved back to Ogema to be closer to family and friends. Over the years, JoDean faced many health challenges, but always remained positive. She will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who loved her.

JoDean enjoyed bead work, coloring, crossword puzzles, cribbage, trips to the casino, attending pow wows and spending time with her kids and Geno. She was a wonderful cook and her specialty was fry bread, which everyone enjoyed. Family was her greatest joy and she cherished their time together.

JoDean is survived by her significant other, Geno Kegg of Ogema, MN; a son, Shawn Goodman (Autumn Auginaush) of Bagley, MN; daughters, Kayara and Karianna Kegg, both of Ogema, MN; brothers: Orville Bower Jr. (Laurie York) and David Bower (Tonia VanWert) both of Waubun, MN; aunts and uncles: Gloria (Jim) LaFriniere and Sharon (Jim) Brandon both of Roy Lake, MN, Dean (Bernice) Bellanger of Waubun, MN; nieces: Gina Bower, Eligha Bower, Alexandrya Bower, and Hailey Bower; many cousins; and lifelong best friend Amber "Twinkle" Myher. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Rudella Bower; son, Geno Kegg Jr; sister, Sandra Bower; brother, Bernard "Jug" Bower; granddaughter, Aniya Marie Goodman; and aunts and uncles.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm on Thursday, January 25, 2018, at the White Earth Community Center and continue until the time of the Funeral at 10:00 am on Friday, January 26, 2018, at the White Earth Community Center in White Earth, MN. Burial will be in the Strawberry Lake Mennonite Cemetery, rural Ogema, MN.
