Giants closing in on Vikings' Pat Shurmur as head coach

The New York Giants are closing in on Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur becoming their head coach, a source said Monday.

The Pioneer Press reported Sunday night that Shurmur and New England offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels were the two leading candidates for the position. The Giants now have targeted Shurmur, and he is expected to take the job.
