Black ice leads to multiple crashes, spinouts; wind chills dangerously cold

Black ice played havoc with Saturday drivers across the state as temperatures plunged below zero and threatened to remain there through the weekend.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported 373 crashes and 124 spinouts between midnight and 9 p.m. Thirty-nine of the crashes resulted in injuries, two serious in Eagan and Bloomington.
